RotG x Book of Life: Jack Frost x Maria

"What..is this?" A Mexican girl by the name of Maria asked herself. It was snowing in San Angel, Mexico, which never usually happens, until now. She rushed outside to get a much closer look and see the surprising yet breathtaking view for herself.

"Oh my goodness," Maria said under her breath. "This is so amazing!"

"Thank you," A male voice laughed, making her turn around and see a new face, a boy who had a wintery look to him as well, balancing himself on a wooden staff. "I do my best."

"Who are you?" Maria asked him.

"My name is Jack Frost," He introduced himself, leaping off his staff and grabbing it quickly as he landed on the ground. "The Guardian of Fun. And you are?"

"I'm Maria Posado," Maria said, at a loss for words. "And what do you mean by Guardian?"

"I'm actually Guardian of Childhood," Jack explained. "Well, one of them at least. There's also Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and the Easter Bunny. We secretly protect everyone on Earth, especially kids from danger. Like Pitch, who's also known as the Boogeyman. You see, before I joined them, Pitch tried to make the children stop believing in the Guardians, wanting to make a second Dark Age."

Maria covered her mouth in surprise at that part with a gasp, "Oh my!"

"Don't worry," Jack winked, assuring her that everything turned out alright in the end. "We stopped and now he's being held prisoner in his own home by his Nightmares, which he turned Sandy's dreams into before."

Maria had believed in all of those figures ever since she was a little senorita, and she was also even afraid of the Boogeyman as well.

"And everyone can see and hear us, only if they believe in all of us, like you do for example." Jack smiled, happy that a girl like Maria can really see a boy like him. She also looked like a very beautiful girl at that.

Maria nodded, not aware that he was staring at her the whole time. After only a second or two, she did start to notice now, "What?"

"You're just...very beautiful." Jack answered, nervously running his fingers through his white hair.

Maria blushed as she silently admitted to herself that Jack was very attractive too, handsome even. His pale skin, being barefoot which never seemed to be a bother to him at all, his snowy white hair, his frosty blue eyes, his darker blue frost designed hoodie and brown pants, and even his sparkling snowy white smile.

Maria was tempted to kiss him just before he suddenly threw a snowball in her face. "Hey!" She laughed. She rolled up a snowball herself and threw it at him, but he flew out of sight, the snowball missing him.

"Huh?" Maria cried out in surprise, wondering where Jack flew off to. But then, with a yelp, she felt someone wrapped their arms around her waist, lifting her off the ground very high. Then higher, and higher, and higher until she was no longer close to the ground. Fearful, she turned her head to see only Jack holding her. Her fear faded away, but only briefly as she just remembered that she was still no longer on the ground.

"It's okay," Jack told her gently. "It's okay. Don't look down, just look at me. You're not gonna fall, you're gonna be fine. You have to believe in me."

Maria breathed in and out a deep breath and replied, "Okay, I do. I always have."

"Good," Jack laughed. "Now you might want to hang on tight."

Maria nodded as she wrapped her arms around Jack's neck, not wanting to let go and fall as he flew fast as the wind itself.

"Whoo hoo!" Jack cheered, enjoying the thrill ride.

Then Maria's fear completely disappeared, loving the ride herself. She laughed and cheered on with Jack as they both flew faster over the cities of Mexico. Maria thought the view was so incredible from high up above the skies. The wind felt cool as it blew against their faces and through their hair, and yet it was also a part of the adrenaline rush that Maria also loved so much. She never wanted that moment to end, ever.

Later on that night, after enjoying the fun day with Maria, he set her back in her room just as they were saying their goodbyes for now.

"Will I get to see you again, Jack?" Maria asked with pleading hazel eyes.

"Yeah Maria," Jack nodded, his own frosty blue eyes glittering as they looked inside Maria's. "Anytime you want."

The two just stared at each other and started to lean closer, very slowly. Maria's pet pig Chuy was watching them, and he pushed Maria closer to Jack with his whole body until Jack and Maria kissed. The two were taken aback at first, until they both closed their eyes and deepened the kiss together. After they pulled away, Jack blew a snowflake at Maria and it landed on her nose, making her giggle and blush.

Jack waved goodbye as he took off into the starry night skies, looking back one last time to see Maria wave back at him. Once Jack was out of sight, Maria turned to Chuy and petted him with a laugh, "Thanks Chuy."
